Jenna is growing up!

Our sweet Jenna has marked an important milestone yesterday and today. Jenna no longer ( I hope) needs a binky! For the past couple of months, Jenna has only been allowed to have her binky in her bed. When I would go to get her out I would say, "Throw your binky in your bed." and she'd toss it right in there. Well, it got lost the day before yesterday. I could not find it anywhere. So I tried to put her to bed without it. She cried for a little while but then went to bed. Again yesterday at nap- no binky. Then last night with a sitter, no less- no binky. Now for today's nap- no binky! I think we're really onto something. The boys never had binkies so this is all new to us. I am pretty excited about it though.
The other thing that Jenna has started is that she seems to be really getting into the Little Mermaid. It started with a set of Ariel jammies that Grandma Pat bought for her. She gets so excited when I get them out. She's even gotten them out for me and she throws a little fit when I try to take them off of her the next morning. So, when I saw this soft Ariel doll for babies 18months and up today at Wal-Mart I couldn't resist. She looks so cute holding her and giving her kisses.

Last night Dustin brought up having another baby. He's ready. I'm not. My plan is that if we wait until the fall the baby will come when Jeff starts school so I will only have two at home. We'll see. For now, we're enjoying the three we have.

Update on the weather....

Our backyard this afternoon. The weather report says it may melt next Friday!

Jenna in her pretty little sun dress and sandals last weekend.

So last weekend was wonderful! Sunday's high temp was 79F! Wow! Weather here is so crazy. Personally, if I were Spring or Fall I would pretty upset that Winter stole so much of their time! While last weekend was amazing, alas, it did not last. It was almost mean to let us get so warm. Yes, folks, it's snowing again. It's April 19th. I am soooooooooooooo hoping this is our last storm. The only ray of light I see, literally, is that our last snow last year was during this week. I am so ready for Spring!

The Warmest Day of the Year, I think!

Hello everyone! As I write this, at 9:30pm it's still 52F! Today was great! I am pretty sure our high temp today was 58F, or so the radio reported. I opened the doors and windows this afternoon after I walked to the commissary in short sleeves. I am sooooooooo glad it's finally warming up. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 70s. Yeah, skipping right over the 60s! We'll be back to the 50s later in the week but I am so excited for tomorrow. Today I saw a boy playing basketball with shorts on, but no shirt. Weather is so wierd. When I lived in Georgia there's no way I would have believed that I would ever consider 58F a warm day. Just to prove how nice it was today- Jeff has the cutest pink cheeks and ears. I'll have to let you know how tomorrow goes. I cannot wait!

Little League Season has Officially Begun!

YEAH!

Henry's Little League Team, the Rangers, and all the other Base teams held their Opening Ceremonies today. Henry looked soooooooooooo cute in his uniform. All the teams came out for a parade of teams, Air Force Honor Guard presentation of the Colors, and a BBQ. Games begin later this month. His team has seemed a little disorganized thus far but his coach had gotten called away unexpectedly for training, this is the Air Force, and was flying home just this afternoon. Hopefully, now that he's back we'll be good to go! His team is sponsered by Great Falls Paper and Supply and I couldn't help but associate that with that NBC program "the Office". :)

Home Teaching

Dustin LOVES to go Home Teaching. In our ward, that's definitely the abnormality. We've never been home taught despite our attempts to lure them to our home! I think we've even offered dessert to no avail. Anyways, I took this photo as Dustin was headed out. Our boys couldn't ask for a better example than their Dad when it comes to this important resposibilty. Way to go, Dad!

Springtime Snowfort

Dustin was a total sweetheart and went outside with the boys and our neighbor Sara to build a snowfort. I do not like the snow, not one bit, so I rarely, rarely take the kids out. In fact, I've only been out once to play this whole winter. They had such a fun time. Don't we just love great Dads?

Cub Scouts is all about incentive!

To encourage our Scouts to come to den meetings in uniform, and bring their books, and follow the Den rules, etc, etc, etc, we play a game called "You Take the Cake". I stole the idea from my mom. The kids earn stickers for doing all the things I mentioned and others. Whoever earns the most stickers gets to choose a cake from the Family Fun Website for us to make for their families. Go to www.familyfun.go.com and click on recipes to get an idea of the choices. We like this idea because it reinforces the idea that Cub Scouts is for families so the whole family gets the reward. Last month we had to make the volcano cake, complete with spewing lava. This month it was the sandcastle cake. I think it turned out pretty cute. The 10 year old scout thought it was "awesome"!

Pinewood Derby

Hi everyone! This week was my Pack's Pinewood Derby. I think it went pretty well. Henry ands Jeff were really excited to see my car in the races. The scouts got to race the leaders after all their races were through. There were six boys participating and I beat two of them. Not bad, considering I made my car the afternoon of the race. Yes, I ModPodged it! I cut out flowers from old magazines to paste onto my pre-cut car. I thought it looked pretty happenin'!
