Spoiled by Grandma, again!

Grandma Pamela's visits always include a little spoiling. This time she brought along this way cool John Deere tractor. Her employer used to offer an incentive program that involved earning points. The points could then buy things from their special catalog. Well, they decided to end the program. So Pamela asked all her friends for their unused points and 100,000 points later we have a tractor! Thank You Albertsons! The kids love it!

Lewis and Clark Caverns

Dustin's Mom, Aunt Rosalie, and cousin Tara came to visit this past week. We drove down to visit the Lewis and Clark Caverns near Whitehall, MT. The State Park offers guided tours of the caverns. It's pretty amazing. You take a short hike uphill in the beginning to the entrance and then travel down, down, down, throught the caverns. There were long eared bats sleeping inside which was super cool but we couldn't take their pictures as they were sleeping and we didn't want to disturb them! Sleeping bats are one thing- flying bats, I don't think so. The coolest part for me was when our guide killed the lights and showed us how the tours used to be guided -by candlelight. It was very creepy. She also cut out all the lights and allowed us to get a little nervous in the COMPLETE darkness. You could not see anything. She told a story of someone being stuck in the caverns for 3 days with no light. I could not imagine! But then she flicked the switch and all was bright again! There is a reason I was born in this day and age! We would defintely recommend this to anyone visiting Montana.

It is just amazing to me to watch Jenna and her babies. The boys did not play with babies...tractors? trucks? balls? YES! Babies? NO! She has one tucked under one arm just about all of the time. I just thought she looked so cute loving her babies that I had to take her picture!

Base Open House and Air Show

I always have mixed feelings about the Base Open House. For 2 days each Spring the Base opens it's gates and lets the community come visit and attend an Air Show. I love showing off the base to everyone but at the same time I love my safe little community with armed guards at the gate. I just wonder about what kind of yahoos we could be letting on base. They have lots of security and no one is allowed in the neighborhoods but it still makes me a little nervous. We had a great time at the Air Show. The Canadian Snowbirds were here and they were great. Jenna even got to enjoy her first snowcone! So fun! The weather was perfect. So many people came to church Sunday just fried from the sun. I am the sunscreen lady (I even ask other moms if they brought sun stuff!) so we were all just as white on Sunday as we were on Friday, except Dustin who doesn't let me put it on him. He always says he'll get it, but what he ends up getting is a pink nose!

I am thinking about re-naming this blog "Your Montana Weather Update"!

Yeah, so I talk about the weather a lot here. It's just so crazy...take these two pictures. One was taken May 13th, the other May 15th. Where else can you have snow one day and two days later play in the sprinkler? I am sooooooooooooo hoping that was our last snow. We had a lovely weekend for the Base Open House this last weekend (pics to come) and I think it's the start of a wonderful summer, which, in Montana, ends in September when the snow comes back. Oh, did I mention we're halfway through our controlled tour here in Montana? This was a four year controlled tour so we're halfway, officially tomorrow. It's a good feeling!

Opening Day!

Tonight was Henry's very first T-Ball game! They all did such a great job and looked so cute doing it!

This afternoon I made Jeff and Jenna these little shirts. They were such a hit tonight! Everyone thought they were so cute, myself included. I had never done iron-on stuff before and learned some important lessons. It's sad to say we lost a pillowcase in the process. It has a lovely tan scorch mark on it now! These are Jenna's matching baseball hairbows, of course. You can't go to a ball game without matching hairbows, right?

Here is a video of Henry at bat tonight. He had good hits both times at bat. At practices they get to make several hits in a row and then on their last hit they get to run to first base. Most of the kids tonight didn't run right away, which is why he needed to be reminded to run in the video.

Jenna is growing up!

Our sweet Jenna has marked an important milestone yesterday and today. Jenna no longer ( I hope) needs a binky! For the past couple of months, Jenna has only been allowed to have her binky in her bed. When I would go to get her out I would say, "Throw your binky in your bed." and she'd toss it right in there. Well, it got lost the day before yesterday. I could not find it anywhere. So I tried to put her to bed without it. She cried for a little while but then went to bed. Again yesterday at nap- no binky. Then last night with a sitter, no less- no binky. Now for today's nap- no binky! I think we're really onto something. The boys never had binkies so this is all new to us. I am pretty excited about it though.

The other thing that Jenna has started is that she seems to be really getting into the Little Mermaid. It started with a set of Ariel jammies that Grandma Pat bought for her. She gets so excited when I get them out. She's even gotten them out for me and she throws a little fit when I try to take them off of her the next morning. So, when I saw this soft Ariel doll for babies 18months and up today at Wal-Mart I couldn't resist. She looks so cute holding her and giving her kisses.

Last night Dustin brought up having another baby. He's ready. I'm not. My plan is that if we wait until the fall the baby will come when Jeff starts school so I will only have two at home. We'll see. For now, we're enjoying the three we have.
