Dustin's Results...

Here are Dustin's results from the Nerd quiz...

Your result for The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test ...
Joe Normal
43 % Nerd, 17% Geek, 30% Dork
For The Record:A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal. This is not to say that you don't have some Nerd, Geek or Dork inside of you--we all do, and you can see the percentages you have right above. This is just to say that none of those qualities stand out so much as to define you. Sure, you enjoy an episode of Star Trek now and again, and yeah, you kinda enjoyed a few classes back in the day. And, once in a while, you stumble while walking down the street even though there was nothing there to cause you to trip. But, for the most part, you look and act fairly typically, and aren't much of an outcast. I'd say there's a fair chance someone asked you to take this test. In any event, fairly normal. Congratulations!

Pure Nerd

So, as I mentioned before, I went to a little get-together on election night. Before I got there the hostess mentioned to the other guests that I hold an elected office here in Cascade County. When I walked in I was greeted with questions about what the office is and what I do for the County. I was talking to one girl, who shall remain nameless, about wanting to be the mayor someday and how my involvement in politics started in High School and continued into my PSU days. Anyways, she said something like, "So your husband knew you were a nerd." I was caught a little off guard but thought, I guess politics can be nerdy. Never really thought about it much before. Then tonight I came across someone's blog who mentioned a Nerd, Dork, or Geek test. I was all over it. Here are my results. Please know I took this test in all honesty!

Your result for The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test ...
Pure Nerd
70 % Nerd, 26% Geek, 43% Dork
For The Record:A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of:

Pure Nerd.

The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful. Congratulations!

I'm off to start a new book. It just so happens I got four from the library just this past Tuesday!
Good Night!

Mitt 2012!

Well, the news is reporting a win for Mr. Obama. We've been watching most of the evening, here at home and at a get-together at a friend's house. I told Dustin I was going to make a shirt that says, "I didn't vote for Obama." and wear it for the next four years. He said that wasn't a very good attitude. (He's just so stinkin' good!) Maybe instead I'll just wear one that says, "Mitt 2012!" I can't help but wonder what these next few years will bring for the Douberlys, for all of us. All I can say now is heaven help us!

We Voted!

Hi All! I hope everyone of you who reads this blog got out and voted today! The Douberlys voted Republican with our nod at John McCain. We'll see what happens tonight. I don't want to hear ANY excuses about not having time to vote from anyone! Make time. Most polls are open until 8pm. I'll get off my soapbox now....leave me a comment and let me know who you voted for!

Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet!

Here are my super-cute kids on Halloween! The weather was AMAZING! I only needed a sweatshirt over my T-shirt and jeans and I was plenty warm...a far cry from snow gear! Since living here at Malmstrom, I've learned that Base Housing is the ultimate Trick or Treating venue! One family even gave out whole candy bars! Our kids did the loop behind our street (our neighbors to the back of us) and our street and their buckets were so full that Jeff needed to use the stroller to stroll his bucket from house to house (very, very funny!). We have a lot of treats! It was so fun to see the whole neighborhood FULL of families. I know we handed out more than 150 treats ourselves! I just can't get over how much fun it was with the warm weather! Even right now it's still in the 50Fs and it's almost 9pm. I don't want it to end, but, alas, this is Montana and it must! Wedenesday's forecast says we will be back to normal: High of 41F with a chance of snow. I'll be lovin' it while I can!
