Another First for Kelsey...Can You Tell What it Is?

Do you have a guess?

Kelsey got her first tooth! I actually saw it for the first time on the 14th but it was very hard to see. If fact, the kids couldn't see it at all. It's slowly pushing it's way out and is pretty noticable now. I thought I'd better get a photo and post her latest accomplishment. It didn't go as easily as I had thought it would. Do you know how hard it is to hold a baby, try to get them to smile so big that their little mouth is wide open, and get the photo? You can only see the tooth in the last photo and she's actually gotten all mad at me for all the other shots. Afterwards I thought to myself, why didn't you try it in the bouncy chair. Hindsight is always 20/20 isn't it? Anyways, if you look really closely at the last photo you can see one tiny tooth on the bottom. It was a pretty painful experience for the little princess. I hope all the others are much, much easier.

In my pretty garden...

Here are some photos of my tulips. They are so pretty. I just love tulips in the Spring!
I was hoping they would hold out blooming until Dustin got home but they've already begun. We're thinking Dustin will be home 2 weeks from this Wednesday. He doesn't have travel plans yet, but he should any day now. We are so excited to have him home!

More from Kelsey...

I am so glad that I am adding new photos today. These are so much happier, and Springier (Is that even a word?), and did I mention happier? Yeah. The snow is gone and the sun is once again warming the earth. I think we even hit 70F yesterday. When I took Kels outside for her first photo shoot she ended up being more interested in the grass than anything else. She just kept running her hands through it and totally ignoring me. Little stinker. Even if she isn't looking at the camera I think she's as pretty as can be. She getting the crawling thing down a little bit better everyday. She's got the idea and is working on the coordination. It's fun to see her get the things she wants after all her effort. Oh, I almost forgot... Saturday night I got a sitter so I could go to Stake Conf. adult session. When I got home Kelsey was in her bouncer seat. When she saw me she just lit up and smiled and squealed the best baby squeal I may have ever heard. It was so funny and wonderful. None of my kids have ever been that happy to see me. The sitter and I just had to laugh. She even asked if she always did that. It's those moments that make it all worth while. I can't wait for Dustin to get to see her smile. The calendar is down to 19 days. Can you believe it? Me neither!

If only you could feel this photo...

It's April. It's mid-April and we're having our usual, rediculous Spring Snowstorm...like those two words should even be said together. Our neighbor has already shoveled once this evening. The only proof lies in the small piles lining the driveway. You certainly can't tell otherwise. The snow is simply tumbling and swirling every which way, up and down, round and round, as though it can't decide quite what to do. The snow is like the weather in general...we are supposed to top 60F on Friday. Where does it do that? Snowy and 30F on Tuesday to Sunny and 60F on Friday? It does it out here all the time. Do you know how tired I am of the pile of snow clothes by the front door? Do you know how tired I am of the line of snowboots that lives by my front door? Do you know how I hate sending my boys out in this nastiness month after month? Do you know how tired I am of dragging poor Jenna into places from parking lots, her little legs going as fast as they can while I juggle the car seat and purse and diaper bag? This weather, this place, sucks the life out of you. I never thought I could hate a place as much as I hate Montana. Bears are so very, very smart. They just hunker down and sleep through all of this. They get to get fat all summer long, the fatter the better, eat it up, every last morsel. Then they sleep all winter long and awaken all slimmed down just in time for pool season. Yep, bears are smart. Alright, I will stop complaining now. It's certainly doing me no good. Hopefully, if you are lucky enough not to live here, you will see how nice you have it. Like that old adage, "I once complained about the price of sunscreen, then I moved to a place that had no sun."

Back to the ER, again!

Kelsey 4-7-10
Kelsey and I had quite the adventure last night. We were all sitting in the living room finishing homework and packing backpacks when Kelsey, who was in her exercauser, started choking. I ran over to her and pulled her out of the seat. She was covered in peaches and I felt bad that I didn't know when she had thrown them up. I looked in her mouth but couldn't see anything. She was trying to cough up what was stuck but then suddenly swallowed it. I asked the kids if they had given her anything to eat or any small toys. They all said no but Jenna looked guilty. For the next half an hour Kelsey kept throwing up until there was nothing left. She looked sallow and wasn't acting like herself. That was it. I called the Kingfishers and the big kids ran over. I ran Kelsey to the ER where, of course, she acted completely normal and didn't throw up again. They did an x-ray just to make sure. They couldn't see anything in there, but plastic doesn't show up clearly on an x-ray. I am hoping it was food and just digested once it got down there. All I know is that she was choking and then throwing up for a half hour. The Bishop and Brother Kingfisher came to the hospital and that was comforting. She seems to be fine today. Now I get to check all her diapers for treasures which will just make each diaper change all the more fun! I cannot wait for Dustin to get home!

Basket Time!

Easter Eggs

Despite all the house guests she had, and all the wedding prep, Aunt Linda made time to hard boil eggs for the kids to dye for Easter. They had a lot of fun choosing colors and dipping in the eggs. Henry even ate one and I think he liked it!
