Star of the Week!

In Mrs. Hart's kindergarten class each child gets to be the Star of the Week for one week during the school year. All the other kids have had their chance weeks ago, but I had asked Mrs. Hart if Jeff could wait until Dad got home. So, here he is with his poster of photos all about himself! On Friday he got to bring in a special guest and treats. He chose to bring in Missy, our dog, and super yummy chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. As a bonus, I brought in all my summer stamps and did face painting as well. It was a fun afternoon in Jeff's class. Now the year is almost over. Tomorrow is the last day of school and I will have a third grader and a first grader. Man, the time is passing so quickly!

Kelsey's Walking?

Soooooooo, Grandma Pamela thinks it's a great idea that Kelsey is thinking about walking! Ok, so do I, but just a little bit. And really she's doing a whole lot more than think about it. I had planned on getting this walking toy for Kelsey's first birthday...like in 4 MONTHS! Not now! Grandma wanted to get her something while she was in town so I suggested this since she really is ready. Crazy girl. She's not great at it, but she can definitely push it a few steps at a time. I am hoping she slows down just a little bit and sticks to cruising the furniture for a while longer. She just seems too tiny to be walking!

It's Time for Little League Season!

It's finally warming up a little bit around here and Little League has officially begun! Our first game was rained out but by Wednesday we were ready to play. Dustin is Jef'f's coach this year for TBall and Henry is on a coach-pitch (machine pitch) team for another year. They all have gotten off to a great start. Jeff has caught on really quickly and has quite an arm. Henry is doing great as well and learning more each year. Jenna loves to play at the park between the fields and I am enjoying some time outside. I love this time of year. Now, if the sun could kick it up a few notches we'd be doing just fine!

A day that will live in infamy, at least at our house...

These photos were taken on Sunday, May 22nd 2010. Grandma Pamela and Aunt Rosalie had come to welcome Dustin home from his deployment. Dustin thought it would be a great idea if after church we went back to their campsite for a picnic. So we packed up lunch and headed out. This is defintely not a normal Sunday activity for us, but we wanted to spend some time outdoors with Grandma and Rosalie. We had a great time cooking over the fire and visiting with each other. The site was lovely with one exception. Now, I don't know if Dustin just hadn't noticed during the camping trip or if Mother Nature awakened something in the mean time, but this place was infested with ticks. Nasty. We thought we did a good job of noticing them and flicking them off, but even the next day Dustin found one on Henry's head. I think this now outranks snow as the reason I can't stand this place. So, this is the day we think Jenna got her infamous tick in the wilds of Montana. I cannot wait to move!

Camping with Dad Again

Dad's first weekend home was spent with the big kids on their first camping trip of the summer. Since Kelsey still isn't sleeping through the night, she and I stayed home and enjoyed some quiet time together. We let the boys ditch school Friday so that they could head out Thursday after school. The crew was gone until Saturday afternoon. They rented a trailer from Outdoor Rec. and had a great time. They found a spot near a beaver's reservoir that was just beautiful. I was surprised when they showed me how big the beaver was! They got to go fishing, too, but with no luck. They all came home very dirty and very tired...sure signs a great time with Dad!

Our First Date...Post Deployment

Dustin and I went on our first date, post deployment, on Tuesday. Dustin planned it and wouldn't really tell me what we were going to do. He just said to wear jeans and either hiking shoes or tennies. I thought we might be getting dirty which is why I did not dress up for this activity! :) We went hiking out at Sluice Boxes State Park on a trail I had never been on. It stuck pretty close to the mountain with quite a drop-off to one side. I admit I was pretty nervous. After the hike we headed back to town for Chinese food. We both thought it was a super evening.

My Pretty Girls

She's pulling up on just about everything. Yesterday she even pulled up on Dustin, LET GO and stood for a second, then fell on her little bum-bum. Crazy girl!

Here are a few pictures I've taken of the girls over the last couple of days. It's been very busy around here. We're getting used to Dad being home and coordinating schedules and "haftas" again. Like, I "hafta" get this or that done, etc. We love having him home though. Jenna will barely let him out of her sight! She wants to go with him everywhere he goes! It's pretty cute. It's super nice to have help again, that's for sure. Tonight he's taking the 3 big kids camping and it will just be me and little one. She and I will be getting the house ready for Grandma Pamela and Aunt Rosalie's visit on Saturday. We have decided life is going to be super packed and super busy until moving day. The faster it comes, the better!
