We Ran Away from Hurricane Isaac!

Here are a couple of photos of the house all boarded up for hurricane Isaac. Even though Isaac was only a Cat 1 hurricane and our house had survived Katrina, a Cat 3, I decided to evacuate with the children and Missy to Montgomery, AL. I am so glad we left. While the homes in my neighborhood maintained power they were essentially housebound for the 3-4 days of intense wind and rain while we played it up with the cousins in AL! We had lots of fun playing with cousins, going out to eat, going to scouts with new friends, and going to the zoo. It was a very strange week but I feel very confident the next time this happens. Dustin called it a "great fire drill!". 

A New Obsession!

So, right before he left, Dustin watched the original 3 Star Wars movies with the boys. Well, he watched part of them with them. The boys were so excited they didn't always wait for Dad! Henry really LOVED them! He loves everything Star Wars now especially all the legos sets! He's also found lots and lots of Stars Wars books and now he's like my dear Anne (of Anne of Green Gables) who gets caught in school reading novels when they should be doing other things. His teacher says she loves that he's reading- but not during teaching time! :)

Here is Why I Have Been Too Busy to Keep Up!

Back on July 31st we had to say goodbye to Dad again. We all gave him lots of hugs and kisses. We sure miss him and we can't wait to have him home again!

It's Cub Scout Time Again!

Here are my sweet boys back in July all ready to jump back into Scouting! This was Jeff's first night as a Wolf Scout and Hen's first night as a Webelos Scout!
