Alpspitzbahn...going down

There are two choices for getting back down the mountain. You can ride back down the same way you came up, or you hike over to the next cable way and take a different cable line down. We decided to hike over to the next cable line. It was a lovely hike. The rain stayed away and it was cool and crisp...and so much like Oregon!!

Stop #3: An Alpspitzbahn Adventure...going up!

July 11, 2014

We rode the Alpspitzbahn up, up, up into the clouds! I think it was my favorite activity of the week! Kelsey would not walk out onto the walkway that extended out over the mountains edge. I wasn't too keen on it, either. Everyone else thought it was awesome...especially because you could see straight down below you. No, thank you!! The sun tanning beds were too cute and we signed the guest book.

Stop #2: Neuschwanstein Castle

July 10, 2014

Neuschwanstein Castle is Germany's most famous. We walked up the long drive with lovely views of the valley and the castle. Kelsey and I were not too thrilled to be making the walk, but we made it! The castle was lovely. We also walked to Marienbrücke, or Marie's bridge, for more spectacular views. We didn't pay for the inside tour of this castle as we figure we will be heading back when family comes to visit! The kids wanted a carriage ride back down the mountain so we had an easy ride back to the van. They thought it was pretty stinky though!

The boys had a lot of fun with the swords they bought in the gift shop! (Yes, even Dustin!)
