First day of School!

Yesterday was the first day of school at Chief Joseph School. Jeff rode the bus for the very first time! He was glad to have Henry right there beside him. I drove with Jenna and met the boys at the school. Henry is in Miss Long's class 2nd grade class and I think it will be a good match. Jeffrey is starting the year out at KinderCamp. For the first three days of school, all of the Kinders are together in the gym. They will split them up tomorrow and their first day in their official classroom will be Monday. Jeff is really liking school, especially getting to eat hot lunch with his friends and recess outside. I am really liking having them both in school and I hope, with just Jenna and I at home for the next six weeks or so, that I will be able to get lots of things crossed off of my "Before the Baby Comes" poster sized (literally) To-Do list! Wish me luck!

A Little Preview

Here are the guys right before they headed out on their week-long adventure. They had a really great time. Jake took most of the photos so you'll have to wait on those. Maybe Dustin will sit down here and write a little about the fun they had. They are pretty spoiled if you ask me!

Hopefully, Jeff's learned his lesson...

My poor Jeff. As Dustin and Jake were getting ready to head out of town, the boys rode their scooters down to Jake's house while Dustin rode his bike around the block. I thought the boys were walking down there but they grabbed their scooters and rode without helmets without me knowing. I had forgotten to tell Dustin that Devin had told me Jeff's scooter was a little messed up (maybe from a teenager jumping off the curbs with it? :) ) Well, his handlebars were no longer aligned with the front wheel and poor Jeff's face hit the pavement. He just kept going on to Jake's though and didn't come home to tell me. Jake found him outside his house all scraped up. Jake cleaned him up, though. I felt so bad. It looked terrible. Needless to say, we had a good long talk about why we wear helmets and I kept checking on his throughout the evening to make sure he didn't hurt his head on the inside, too. He sure heals quickly though, as I write this you can barely tell anything happened and it's only been a week. He was a trooper through the whole thing. Me, I would have been a mess if my face looked like that!

Camping with Dad

Not this past weekend, but the one before it, Dustin took all three kids camping on Friday and Saturday. It was a three day weekend for Dustin so off they went on Friday afternoon. They went out to Logging Creek and drove in the mud and cooked burgers over a fire and got really, really dirty, and had a great time. I stayed home and had a really great time! (And, yes, Dustin added a 4th seatbelt to the truck so everyone was buckled in.)

Playing Catch-Up, Again!

Here are a few photos from when Cody and Devin were here. I had forgotten I had already uploaded them to the computer when Dustin took the camera last week on his week-long motorcycle adventure...story and photos to come later. All week I was wanting my camera so I could add these when I had them all along. I am really wondering about my mental health! The first photo was from a walk at Giant Springs and the other 4 photos are all from the Montana State Fair. My kids sure had fun with their cousins here. I am just daydreaming about the times when I will send MY kids to stay with their cousins! David already volunteered! Yeah!

Back to Normal, I think...

Last night we said goodbye to Devin and Cody at the train station in Shelby, MT. They have been staying with us since we got back from vacation. It was fun having them and they were lots fo help with the kids. We were super busy while they were here. We went mini golfing, to the Fair, fishing, to a Great Falls Voyagers baseball game, bowling, swimming, visited Giant Springs State park, went on a motorcycle ride, and gave Cody a driving lesson. I am pretty exhausted, especially given the fact that I haven't finished unpacking from 2 weeks ago! So off to work I go. There's lots of cleaning up and putting up and organizing to do. I also have to keep in mind I've got Scouts next week, I am speaking in church Sunday, Dustin leaves for a week this coming week, school is starting soon, and oh yeah, we've got a baby on the way! Not to mention the deployment that is right around the corner! Enough chatter...I'd better get off of here and get the dishes done!
