He could be our future President...

Mitt Romney made a campaign stop in Pascagoula this past Thursday. we pulled the boys out early from school and headed out. The email we received gave the wrong address but we finally found the right place and caught the last few minutes of his address. Afterwards, he stayed to talk to people and shake hands. Henry got to meet him first. Dustin also got to shake his hand but it was happening too fast and I didn't get a photo. We hurried to the other side of the venue to try to get Jeff, me, and the girls a turn. As he came around he saw Jenna and called her over to pick her up. We were all 6 of us posed for a photo with him, but the idiot who took our camera cut all the boys out. We were not happy. There were several news agencies on hand. Yesterday, Dustin's friend from work emailed from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to tell us he had just seen us all on CNN news! Woohoo! Now we've been trying to track down an image on CNN of our wholw family without any luck. I am going to keep trying though!

You win some, you lose some!

I love these photos! These were taken this past Monday for Jenna's picture day. She looked so darling with her new dress, new shoes, and matching hairbows. I was so pleased at how cute she looked. So off we went to school. I had a thought as I saw one of the boys that they looked a little like a clown as we headed out the door. Think athletic shorts, mismatched Tshirt, mismatched socks, and checkered Vans. Whatever, it was all clean. Yeah, in the afternoon I got an email from Henry's teacher apologizing that the sub from last week (all the kids had subs because of teacher training) hadn't reminded the parents that it was class picture day. So Jenna went to school looking fabulous and the boys went au naturale! Henry, at least, was placed in the middle of the class so he'll probably be fine. Jeff, dressed in all red (red shorts/red Tshirt) was in the back, on the side, with no one in front. I honestly can't wait to see what they looked like! I sure dropped the ball on that one!

2012 Blue & Gold Banquet

Happy Birthday Cub Scouting!
Henry had his Blue & Gold Banquet on Leap Day! We had a yummy dinner, enjoyed skits from each of the dens, and saw the boys get their awards. Henry is on his way to earning his Bear rank before his birthday in July. It's going by so fast!

The Regional Science Fair

Henry's Science Fair project, "Butterfly Flower Attraction", won sixth place at the regional science fair back on February 29th. He was so pleased to hear his name called to head to the stage in front of about 1000 people! There were over 570 projects in the fair. Henry competed against appoximately 60 other 1st place botany winners from other Elementary schools across south Mississippi. Way to go, Henry!

It's Fat Tuesday!

Since Kelsey was still trying to get better Dustin stayed home with her and the rest of us braved downtown Biloxi for their Mardi Gras parade. The kids caught so many fun things! We had lots of fun, but public events sure bring out the wierdies! I joked that we sat near the parole section. Luckily we were seated with some really great grandmas and we had a nice time chatting with them while they offered the kids food, gum, and candy! We didn't stay for the whole thing. It's actually teo parades back to back and we left shortly after the second one started. We had a scary moment when some Latino men tried to make us pay them because we parked in an empty city lot. They had blocked people in and were extorting money out of them. I didn't back down. We called the police when one man sat on the hood of our van. We stayed on the phone with the police until police were on their way and they let us leave. Sorry pal, that doesn't work with me!

A Weekend at Flint Creek

The photos don't do this weekend justice and I certainly didn't take enough of them. We spent the weekend at Flint Creek with our friends, the Durrants. The kids had fun running wild and getting super dirty. In the course of their exploring they noticed someone had practiced their golf game by hitting balls into the lake. Dustin, crazy as he his, went in after them. He collected over 40! The kids thought he was so funny. They also went on a hike which I missed staying in with a sick little Kelsey, poor thing. We ate lots of good food, we had a great campfire with yummy treats, and had lots of good family fun. I have no idea what Jenna and Carter are doing in that photo of them, but I tease Jenna that she can marry Carter and you never know so I included that photo of them! :)

Mardi Gras at North Bay Elementary!

Mardi Gras is a big deal on the Gulf Coast. The children even get a 5 day weekend to enjoy the festivities. The school hosts a parade on Thursday, before the long weekend. The fifth graders, military members, local police, and local business' and groups walk the parade and grades K-4th line the route to catch all kinds of goodies. It was a lot of fun and great way to kick off the season!

Happy Birthday, Dustin! 35!

Happy 35th Birthday, Dustin! We love you!

Dustin and Jenna's Snowy Adventure!

In January, Dustin and Jenna took a big trip to Utah for our friend Bradly's wedding. Dustin attended the sealing while Jenna spent time with her Grandma, her Aunts, and her cousin Abbey. They had lots of fun playing around Salt Lake City. Dustin even got a day to go skiing in Park City!

The Crash

So, back in January someone (who shall remain nameless) clicked a little button labeled "allow" which was followed by the crash! Down went my wonderful little laptop, my friend, my photo storage facility! Luckily, I had backed up most of my photos onto CD or uploaded them to online storage/printing companies. It's a bit of a mess but I don't think much is truly lost. As for my documents...aye, aye, aye. Nothing was backed up. At all. Thankfully, a member of our ward is confident that he can fix the whole mess but he doesn't have time to do until April. As a result this blog has suffered. Here's to catching up using Dustin's computer as best I can. The trick is to save all these SD cards so that I can hopefully load them onto my computer once it's been miraculously healed!
